After a concentrated weekend, stay for a revitalizing "day of play" with Kim Robertson!

In a class designed to rekindle childlike enthusiasm for harpists of any level, Kim will share her intuitive, non-linear approach to help you awaken your musical creativity.   

The focus will not be on new repertoire, but instead on universal ways to improve and enrich any music.

Learn secrets of musicality, experiencing exercises for:

1. •Centering and focusing in the present moment, both on and off the harp
   

1. •Feeling the heartbeat of the music by breathing and holding the pulse (without rushing)
   

1. •Seeing the 'big picture' of a piece & the art of connecting the phrases
   

1. •Experiencing the sound of what we are really playing  (instead of thinking about what we are supposed to be playing)
   

"Plan" for spontaneity by:

1. •Training on easy patterns for future improvising
   

1. •Creating custom-made etudes as a shortcut to playing new techniques
   

1. •Learning to leap, using extemporaneous exercises (on and off the harp) to 'practice' being spontaneous!

We’ll innovate & explore:

1. •Become a sound-explorer, using different effects and experimental techniques (with some fun toys included!)
   

1. •Fall in love with a new approach to music, using mixed-media and playful exercises to unleash originality
   

Staying inspired:

1. •Exercises for 'daily play' that will keep the creative juices flowing
   

 

1. •Defining attainable but exciting creative goals to take home from the weekend
   

1. •Uncovering your own unique gift and playful mission on the harp!

The class will be hands-on,

with exercises done both

on and off the harp.

Cozy, comfortable clothing is recommended. The pace will be informal & relaxed, with some

time allowed for questions and personalized discussion.
