"We sold the highest volume we've ever sold at a folk harp conference, and we've been doing this ten years."  - Alfredo Rolando Ortiz

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE VENDOR HALL:

It's temperature controlled.

Carpeted with neutral-colored carpet.

Has lofty ceilings.

Has natural light and windows as well as regular light.

Has three to four quiet rooms off the side for trying harps.

Is located central to all the activities.

"This is as nice a vendor hall as we have ever seen."

--Pamela Bruner and Dave Woodworth

We've put together an opportunity for you to meet a previously "underexposed" group of eager harpers.

We spread out the "hits" on the vendor hall so that the harpers don't swamp you in one big hoard.  Friday about half of the participants will arrive and you can have them all to yourself for 6½ hours, without major workshops going on.  Saturday the weekend arrivals will bring fresh traffic.  "Shopping-Only Pass" people will come at any times Saturday or Sunday, and the pass is free.   There will be 160 weekend harpers plus their companions, plus the public.

VENDOR HALL PROMOTION:

We aggressively promote the Vendor Hall within the harp community (AHS members and others) and in the local public, using 25% of what you pay us.  We buy display ads in the local newspapers -- ads specifically devoted to the vendor hall.  In former years we found out this extra push really did result in harp and product sales to locals.

"QUIET ROOMS"

There are several "quiet rooms" for people to try harps.  THIS REALLY SELLS HARPS.  Booths are separated from each other with "Pipe and Drape."

BOOTH FEES:

We spend 25% of this money on promotional ads specifically for the vendor hall.   They really work!

You can lease two spaces if desired.

You can divide a space with permission only.

You must keep your booth open the entire time the vendor hall is open.

LODGING:

We are saving campus for the harpers,

because it fills up.  There are some good hotels within 2 miles, listed on the lodging page.  Sometimes as the conference approaches, we find we do have some places on campus.  You can let us know to put you on a waiting list, on the registration form.

FOOD:

Lutheridge food is very reasonable, and good. No tax or tips.  You have an opportunity to sign up for food and concert tickets on your vendor registration form.  You cannot sign up for food when you arrive.

PRESENTING WORKSHOPS:

Some vendors offer to freely give informational workshops that are not directly self-promoting, although we all realize that it tends to drive more business to your booth.  We appreciate these and have used some in our programs.

We use the same high criteria in choosing these as we do in choosing the other weekend workshops.  If you have a session you would like to volunteer, let us know and we can consider it for the weekend.
